1/4 oz. dry vermouth
1/4 oz. vermouth rosso
3/4 oz. brandy
3/4 oz. orange juice
Splash of tawny port
Stir first five ingredients well over ice in a mixing glass. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and float a little port wine on top.
Christian Brothers brandy, Dolin dry vermouth, Carpano Antica vermouth rosso, Warres Otima 10 year tawny port. This drink seems a little complicated… more complicated than it tasted. Nothing really stood out, although I could smell the vermouth rosso right away (bananas… weird, right?). Slightly citrusy, slightly herbal, and tart. I’d put this in the after-dinner sipper category.
