3/4 to 1 oz. lemon juice
1/4 oz. simple syrup
1 barspoon sugar
1 1/2 oz. gin
1/4 to 3/4 oz. cherry brandy
Shake first four ingredients well over ice cubes in a shaker. Strain into a collins glass over ice and fill with soda. Carefully pour in cherry brandy and garnish with cherry.
Bombay well gin and Cherry Heering liqueur. Although there’s nothing tropical in this drink, it had that feel to it. Maybe it was the name, maybe not. Either way, a very enjoyable drink. Tart from the lemon, very slightly fruity from the brandy, and floral from the gin. This goes down very easily.
