Juice of half a lime
1 1/4 oz. Rose’s lime juice
1/4 oz. Tia Maria
3/4 oz. white rum
1 1/4 oz. dark rum
1 1/4 oz. high-proof dark rum
Shake well over crushed ice in a shaker. Strain into a large highball glass over crushed ice and drop the squeezed lime into the glass.
Bacardi white rum, but that’s the only rum I got the name of (it was a hectic night). Also, Kahlua subbed in for the Tia Maria, and I allowed Ryan to use their own sweetened lime juice instead of Rose’s. This cocktail was a very nice follow up to the very disappointing previous drink. Very boozy (kind of felt like you could breathe fire after a sip). This drink had a distinct coconut flavor, not strong, but very recognizable. This was strange, as there wasn’t anything coconutty in it. The Kahlua provided a slightly bitter but nutty note. This would make a perfect beach drink if you had absolutely nowhere else to be for the rest of the day.
