November 13, 2014 – The Republic Steakhouse

3/4 oz. dry vermouth
3/4 oz. Campari
3/4 oz. gin
Lemon peel
Soda (optional)

Stir over ice in an aperitif glass. Twist lemon peel over drink and drop in. Fill with soda, if desired.

Plymouth Navy Strength gin, Dolin dry vermouth. This cocktail is a variation on a Negroni. Pleasingly bitter, which would make it a good before-dinner drink (aperitif). I couldn’t discern if it was the gin or the vermouth that gave it a lovely herbal note that wasn’t particularly sweet (I’m leaning toward the gin).
