November 20, 2014 – The Republic Steakhouse

Juice of half a lime
1 1/2 oz. orange juice
1/4 oz. triple sec
3/4 oz. brandy
3/4 oz. white rum
1 oz. dark rum

Shake well over ice in a shaker. Strain into a large highball glass half-filled with ice. Drop the squeezed lime into the glass.

Christian Brothers brandy, Bacardi white rum, Meyer’s Original dark rum. This was a very pleasant surprise! (My notes for this one open with “Oooh!”) Tart, a little bitter; definitely not beachy, which is what I was expecting. A bit more sweetness might have tipped it into that realm.
