Fallen Leaves

Fallen Leaves (Charles Schumann, 1982)

3/4 oz. vermouth rosso
1/4 oz. dry vermouth
3/4 oz. Calvados
Dash of brandy
Lemon peel

Stir in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Twist  lemon peel over drink and drop in.

Carpano Antica vermouth rosso, Dolin dry vermouth, Christian Brothers brandy. Tell me a cocktail has Calvados in it, and I’m instantly bored. I haven’t really had one yet that was worth ordering, until now. This was surprisingly good, for any drink, let alone a Calvados drink. A little bitter, a little fruity, with that bright note you always get from a good lemon twist. All together a very nice cocktail I will try to remember to order again.
