Corpse Reviver No. 2
3/4 oz. Pernod
Pour Pernod into a Champagne flute and fill with Champagne. Sprinkle with a little lemon juice.
Gruet sparkling white wine. A little tart. The licorice/anise of the Pernod smoothed out some of the mustiness of the wine. Corpse revivers are traditionally supposed to be “morning after” drinks, though I’m not sure this one fits the bill in my opinion. It’s a lovely cocktail, would be great as an aperitivo, but not something I’d want in the morning.
