Corpse Reviver No. 1 (Frank Meier; Ritz Bar, Paris)
3/4 oz. vermouth rosso
3/4 oz. Calvados (or apple jack)
3/4 oz. brandy
Stir well with ice in a mixing glass. Strain into a cocktail glass and serve with a glass of ice water.
Carpano Antica vermouth, Christian Brothers brandy. Nice, but a bit boring (it’s got Calvados in it… duh). As Carpano Antica vermouth rosso does, it saved this drink. I do have to say that this would make a good aperitif, though.
