Sidecar 

3/4 oz. lemon juice
1/4 to 3/4 oz. triple sec
1 1/2 oz. brandy

Shake well over ice in a shaker. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Christian Brothers brandy, Cointreau instead of triple sec. Very tasty and refreshing! This very classic cocktail was bright with a bit of tartness balanced by warm fruitiness. It also looked great in the new glassware!

The exact origin of the Sidecar is unclear, but it is thought to have been invented around the end of World War I (although the drink appears in literature as early as 1907) in either London or Paris; the Ritz Hotel in Paris claims origin of the drink, as does Pat MacGarry, the popular bartender at London’s Buck’s Club. Other provenance states an American Army captain in Paris during World War I invented it and named after the motorcycle sidecar that the captain used.
