Foggy Day (Charles Schumann, 1980)

1 1/2 oz. gin
1/4 oz. Pernod
Lemon peel

Pour gin and Pernod into an aperitif glass. Fill with cold water and add peel.

Austin Reserve gin. I know… shocker… not my beloved Plymouth Navy Strength? I thought it would overpower such a simple cocktail. The Austin Reserve was delightful! A very tasty little sip in which the Pernod was not overly prominent. The lemon twist really brought out the lemon grass in the gin.

I think drink was supposed to be cloudy (foggy) from the Pernod mixing with water, but it wasn’t, for some reason. Maybe something in the gin was keeping this from happening.
