Ernest Hemmingway Special
Juice of half a lime
1/4 to 3/4 oz. grapefruit juice
1/4 oz. maraschino liqueur
1 1/2 oz. white rum
Shake well over ice in a shaker. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Flor de Caña rum. A bit disappointing. This came out a bit on the flat side and rather sour. I think it could have used a splash of simple syrup, perhaps. That’s one of the dangers of using fresh-squeezed juices; it’s hard to maintain a consistent product. Previous grapefruit/rum cocktails have been wonderful.
