3/4 oz. lemon juice
3/4 oz. Cointreau (or triple sec)
1 1/2 oz. tequila
Shake well over ice in a shaker. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass with a salted rim.
Hussong’s tequila. I’ve had many a margarita, both good and bad. I had been putting the book’s version off in preference of more exotic, less well known offerings. I was surprised at the use of lemon juice instead of lime, but this was still a good, simple, classic cocktail. Nicely balanced in sweetness, tartness, and tequila’s usual funk.
