Juice of a lime
3/4 oz. apricot brandy
1 1/2 oz. gold rum
Shake in a shaker with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Mount Gay gold rum, DeKuyper apricot-flavored brandy. The apricot really comes through with this one, though if you didn’t know exactly what it was, you’d say it was peach, which makes me think peach schnapps might be good in this drink because it has a touch more sweetness. This conjecture was proven correct in the second round. For some reason, I’m getting a lot of bitterness, probably from the lime… a lot of the peel made it in, perhaps.
