Rum Runner (Charles Schumann, 1986)
Juice of half a lime
1 barspoon powdered sugar (or 1/4 oz. sugar syrup)
2 3/4 oz. pineapple juice
1 oz. white rum
1 oz. dark rum
Dash of Angostura bitters
Shake with crushed ice in a shaker. Strain into a large highball glass, fill with crushed ice, and sprinkle with nutmeg.
Flor de Caña white rum, Diplomatico dark rum. This is a very tropical drink; all that’s missing is a little umbrella and fruit on a stick. The glories of pineapple and rum are very much evident; the pineapple smooths over some of the bite from the rums.
