Deep South (Charles Schumann, 1986)
1/4 oz. lemon juice
1/4 oz. Rose’s lime juice
1/4 oz. dark rum
1/4 oz. Southern Comfort
Shake first four ingredients with ice in a shaker. Strain into a Champagne flute and fill with Champange.
Gruet sparkling white wine. I had to “sneak” the Southern Comfort in with me for this one (and other SoCo drinks) because The Republic doesn’t stock it. I can see why. This cocktail is best described as… *shrug* meh. The Southern Comfort cuts the mustiness of the wine a bit, but other than that, there’s not much to distinguish its contribution.
