Sherry Flip

1 egg yolk
1/4 oz. sugar syrup
3/4 oz. cream
1 1/4 oz. medium sherry
1/4 oz. Cognac
Nutmeg

Shake well with ice in a shaker. Strain into a cocktail glass and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Savory & James amantillado sherry. A bit lighter than other flips. Possibly this is way it seems a little flat. Not sweet, exactly, but makes you think sweet. The sherry is a tiny bit grapey; like brandy but without the warm caramel. I will say this: it’s nice to have a cream drink that isn’t chocolate and doesn’t make me think of dessert.
